New data ethics resource launched

Data Ethics News
We’ve partnered with Learning Pool to release a course on data ethics, helping organisations apply ethical data practices.

We’ve teamed up with Learning Pool, a leading UK provider of workplace learning, to produce a new educational resource on data ethics

Called ‘Data Ethics', the course is structured around the data lifecycle and allows attendees to learn more about this important topic and how to apply good practices in their organisations.

The programme provides information on a range of subjects particularly relevant to the public sector, including consent when collecting data, retention when storing data, and the impact of bias and fairness when using data.

As well as being available to Learning Pool users, we’ve made the course free for all TPXimpact customers, ensuring they have access to these valuable resources.

Paul Clough, Principal Data Science and AI Consultant at TPXimpact, said:

“Organisations everywhere are trying to use data to produce better outcomes, whether that’s automating processes or improving decision making. With the growth of these data-led practices, we need to put a greater emphasis on ethics, ensuring data isn’t used to negatively affect people, businesses or society as a whole. The motto of our course is ‘just because you can doesn’t mean you should’.”

“That is why we’ve created this course using our knowledge and experience. We hope those who take it will learn about good data practices and leave with vital skills that will help keep them and their organisations safe and secure.”

Ryan Cooper, Director of Off the Shelf Content at Learning Pool, said:

“Knowing our personal and professional data is handled fairly affects every person, every day. We are delighted that TPXimpact have expertly guided us through this topic. This topic adds great benefit to our customers and colleagues alike.”
